One of things many people love to eat at our shows is the chicken breasts. Here is how to cook some with your cookware at home.
2 whole chicken breasts with skin removed (Use Organic and free range if at all possible)
Preheat skillet over medium heat
Place chicken breasts in skillet and cook for about 12 minutes. (Note thinner or thicker breasts will increase or decrease cooking time.
Turn Chicken over and cook for another 3 – 5 minutes. (Or until inside temperature of breast has reached 165 degrees with a food thermometer.)
Remove chicken from skillet and season to taste.
Add a potato if you like when the chicken is added, then add vegetables after you turn the chicken for a one-pot meal.
Boneless chicken breasts can be used as well; smaller ones will shorten cooking time.
Frozen chicken breasts should be rinsed prior to cooking to remove the ice “glazing.” Some chicken breasts cooked from frozen are smaller and will cook quickly.
Seasoning or marinating prior to cooking works just as well if you prefer.
After removing meat, add water to pan while it is still hot to deglaze the pan. This will make a great start for gravy base if you like, and it assists in making clean-up simple.
